“I’ve worked with Bill Dunham in the past while he was employed by other organizations. Back then I knew that I could count on him to see that our projects were completed on time, within budget and that the quality of work and personnel were of the highest caliber. My first project with OATC, Inc., the company Bill founded, has been a huge success. OATC, Inc. was able to provide extremely knowledgeable staff as well as the methods and processes needed to successfully upgrade our Oracle Applications environment to the latest release (11.5.10.2). When we got started we found that our upgrade would take a minimum of seven days of down time using our existing hardware and operating system. We were running HP-UX on HP 9000 systems at the time. With the help and support of OATC, Inc. we managed to reduce the overall costs of purchasing and supporting a new HP 9000 hardware platform by porting our Oracle Applications installation to an HP C Class Blade System, a Network Appliance SANs/NAS storage system and then by running Oracle Applications under Linux and VMware. I estimate the total cost of the new equipment was about the same as if I had purchased three new HP 9000 class systems. Additionally we gained not only enough capacity to run our production, development and test environments, we had capacity left over for use in support of other applications. The hardware migration and Oracle Applications upgrade was performed at the same time. Surprisingly the Oracle upgrade and Linux/VMware port only took two and a half days! We were able to get the upgrade completed in a weekend with time to spare. This is certainly the best, smoothest and most cost effective upgrade I’ve been involved in. This was our fourth upgrade of Oracle Applications!”
